3 Things To Know:

  • Expect showers with a high likelihood on Tuesday morning, followed by potential thunderstorms in the afternoon.
  • Marginal Risk of severe storms
  • Gusty winds and small hail could accompany any strong storms on Tuesday.

Calm Before the Storm

Today’s weather will be quiet as high pressure settles in, bringing light northeast to east winds. In the eastern areas, temperatures will stay cooler, ranging from the 40s to the middle 50s. Areas further inland might see highs reaching the lower 60s. A warm up arrives Tuesday along with a better chance of rain and thunderstorms.

Showers on the Way

Rain in Wisconsin Tuesday

Things are set to change tomorrow. Overnight tonight, a warm front will push into the area, increasing moisture and leading to a high probability of showers (60 to 90 percent) through Tuesday morning. The cold front will then approach from the west, potentially bringing scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Forecasts indicate that if storms develop, there may be gusty winds and small hail. Although the severe weather risk appears isolated, the Storm Prediction Center has identified a marginal risk for strong storms in southeastern Wisconsin. You can track any storms on our Live Stream Page.

Cooler Days Short Term

After the front moves through, we can expect a return to dry and cooler conditions by Tuesday night. Northwest winds will pick up, leading to a drop in temperatures as we head into Wednesday.
