3 Things To Know:
- A Frost Advisory is in effect for northern Wisconsin tonight, with lows around 30 degrees.
- Additional frost is possible Thursday night in north-central Wisconsin.
- Temperatures will rise above normal by the end of Memorial Day weekend.
Frost Advisory Warning
Northern Wisconsin is bracing for a chilly night ahead. A Frost Advisory is in effect from midnight tonight until 8 AM CDT Thursday. Expect temperatures to plummet to around 30 degrees, particularly in the northern regions. While the lower areas may experience temperatures in the middle to upper 30s, there is potential for readings to dip into the upper 20s in the far north.
As noted in the forecast, “Although temperatures could dip into the upper 20s across the far north, the amount of time below freezing is expected to be too brief for a Freeze Warning at this time.” So, while it may be cool, this won’t likely trigger more severe warnings.
Weather Outlook for Thursday
Dry conditions are expected to continue into Thursday, with temperatures remaining below normal. Another dip in temperatures overnight could lead to additional Frost Advisory headlines, particularly in north-central Wisconsin, where lows are forecasted to reach the lower to middle 30s. Areas further south should see lows around 40 degrees.
Memorial Day Weekend Forecast
High pressure will begin to retreat on Friday, paving the way for two low-pressure systems approaching from the south and west over the Memorial Day weekend. Fortunately, current models suggest that these systems will not bring heavy rain, offering instead sporadic chances for showers and thunderstorms throughout the holiday weekend.
Looking ahead, temperatures will remain below normal through the week but are forecasted to warm to above normal levels by late in the Memorial Day weekend, continuing into early next week. Make sure to stay warm tonight and keep an eye on the weather as the weekend approaches.
