Northestern Wisconsin Weather

3 Things To Know:

  • Elevated fire weather conditions persist this afternoon, with low humidity levels.
  • Scattered showers are expected to arrive Tuesday morning, with a chance of afternoon thunderstorms.
  • Temperatures will gradually warm, reaching the low 80s by the weekend.

The latest forecast from the National Weather Service in Green Bay indicates a continuation of elevated fire weather conditions across northeast Wisconsin today. Low relative humidity has prompted concerns, particularly as conditions remain dry this afternoon.

Fire Weather Risks

Current observations show humidity levels in the upper 20s to mid-30s, especially in sandy soil regions. Although winds are light for now, they may shift tonight as weather patterns change. While low afternoon relative humidity levels are a concern this week, brief periods of rain and light winds are projected to minimize critical fire weather threats.

Upcoming Rain and Storms

Looking ahead, a clipper system will bring scattered rain showers to the region starting late tonight and into early Tuesday morning. The highest chances for rain will occur early Tuesday, ending by around noon. Total rainfall amounts are expected to be light, with a 40 to 70% probability of receiving 0.25 inches of rain. Thunderstorm potential is localized to areas of east-central and far northeast Wisconsin during the afternoon hours, but severe weather is not anticipated.

Warming Temperatures

As we move into the latter part of the week, temperatures are set to rise gradually. By the weekend, daytime highs should reach the low 80s, aided by a strengthening ridge of high pressure. This warming trend could bring additional storm chances as the atmosphere becomes more unstable.

As the weather shifts, stay tuned for updates and prepare for both rain and warmer conditions.
