3 Things To Know:
- Dry weather is expected across Southeast Wisconsin through the weekend and into next week.
- There is a high swim risk for the lakeshore areas of Ozaukee, Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha due to strong onshore winds.
- Temperatures will remain cooler near the lake, with highs reaching the upper 70s inland.
Dry Weather Ahead
Southeast Wisconsin is set to enjoy dry conditions this weekend as high pressure continues to dominate the region. Expect mostly sunny skies with comfortable temperatures, though a noticeable lake breeze will keep things a bit cooler along the lakeshore.
Swim Risks at the Lakeshore
Persistent and elevated onshore winds are forecasted, leading to high waves of 3 to 5 feet. A Beach Hazards Statement is in effect from 7 AM to 9 PM Saturday for Ozaukee, Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha counties. This results in a high swim risk, so caution is advised if you’re heading to the beach.
Weekend Temperature Trends
Temperatures will vary significantly based on proximity to the lake. Expect highs around the lower 60s at the lakeshore, while inland areas could see temperatures climb into the mid to upper 70s.
On Sunday, winds are expected to ease, but lakeshore temperatures will remain cool in the lower 60s. There is a slight chance for some clouds and maybe a shower in the late afternoon, though confidence in that is currently low.
Looking Ahead
By Monday, we can expect a similar weather pattern, with inland temperatures potentially rising into the lower 80s. While some clouds and isolated showers could develop from an upstream system, the overall chance remains low.
This extended stretch of dry weather should continue into the week, making for favorable conditions for outdoor plans. High temperatures should gradually increase, particularly for inland areas, reaching the upper 80s by Thursday.
Keep an eye on the forecast as details may evolve, especially regarding the potential for thunderstorms late in the week.
