Current Weather Conditions

This morning, temperatures are dipping into the low to mid-30s across parts of Northeast Wisconsin, particularly north of Highway 29. As a result, frost and freeze headlines remain in effect. โ€œAreas of frost expected north of Hwy 29 through this morning,โ€ according to the latest discussion from the National Weather Service.

High pressure is currently dominating our weather pattern, but clouds are moving in, potentially stabilizing temperatures. Still, we’ll have to keep an eye on the frost potential tonight and throughout the next few days.

Rain Forecast for Today and Tonight

Shower chances are increasing, particularly in central and north-central Wisconsin. Expect scattered showers to start late this morning and continue into the evening as a clipper-like low pressure system approaches. The models show a 40 to 80 percent chance of rain in the area.

While localized rainfall may accumulate to a half-inch in some spots, it wonโ€™t be a significant rain event for areas in dire need of more substantial moisture.

Whatโ€™s Ahead for Sunday Night and Beyond

As we move into Sunday night, additional frost is possible across northern Wisconsin, with the highest likelihood occurring Sunday night into Monday morning. Temperatures are expected to drop below 33 degrees in several areas.

In the extended forecast, conditions may remain mainly dry through mid-week, with no strong systems anticipated. However, the ongoing drought could create fire weather concerns as the fine fuels continue to dry out.
