3 Things To Know:

  • A heatwave with dangerous heat index values is expected through much of the week.
  • Slight chances for showers and storms this afternoon and tonight mainly north and west of Milwaukee.
  • Heat advisories are likely to be issued starting Monday due to temperatures in the 90s and high humidity.

Weather Overview

The weather in Southeast Wisconsin is gearing up for a significant warm-up this week. As high pressure continues to dominate the region, we can expect hot and humid conditions leading to dangerous heat index values. Residents should remain cautious of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Today Through Tuesday

This morning, a gentle easterly wind is in place, bringing some clouds from northern Illinois. Despite a decaying thunderstorm complex that will move through parts of southern Wisconsin, the chances for any significant rain in our area are low. Expect only a 20 percent chance of showers and storms.

As we move into Monday, a warm front will push through, bringing with it an increase in heat and humidity. High temperatures will likely reach the lower to mid-90s, combined with dew points in the 70s, resulting in heat index values ranging from 100 to 108 degrees. This trend will continue into Tuesday, making heat precautions essential.

“Heat headlines are expected for much of the week beginning Monday.”

Long-Term Forecast

Going into the latter half of the week, the heat will persist as a strong upper ridge remains in place. While we may see slight chances for precipitation Tuesday night into Wednesday, the primary concern will still be the heat. Expect heat advisories or even extreme heat warnings to be issued throughout the week as conditions remain warm and humid.

Always remember to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities during peak heat, and check on vulnerable individuals in your community. For updated forecasts where you live check out our Forecasts Page.
