3 Things To Know:
- Widespread light rain and possible thunderstorms this morning.
- Rip current risk at Lake Michigan beaches tonight and Sunday.
- Quiet and pleasant weather expected Sunday through Monday.
Saturday

This morning, residents of Northeast Wisconsin can expect widespread light rain, with the potential for a few thunderstorms. A low-pressure system moving through northern Illinois is causing this rain, which should gradually end from west to east throughout the morning.
Morning Rain and Thunderstorms
As the day progresses, a few rumbles of thunder may accompany localized rain showers as daytime heating increases modest instability in the atmosphere. High temperatures will be in the middle 70s to around 80 degrees, thanks to persistent northeast winds.
As noted in the National Weather Service’s area forecast discussion, “No severe weather is expected.” This means any storms will be mild without significant impacts.
Evening and Weekend Outlook

Starting tonight, expect the rain to taper off as surface high pressure builds into the region. This will bring clear to partly cloudy skies, light winds, and more pleasant summer conditions. Sunday is shaping up to be a nice day with highs climbing from the mid-70s on Saturday to the upper 70s and lower 80s on Monday.
Rip Current Risk
Beachgoers should be aware of an increased risk for rip currents along Lake Michigan beaches, particularly south of Sturgeon Bay, which is expected to persist into Sunday.
Looking Ahead
The tranquility won’t last long as scattered showers and thunderstorms make a return starting Tuesday and continuing into Wednesday. This next weather system will bring higher moisture content and may create conditions conducive for localized training of showers.
Despite some rain chances, severe weather remains unlikely due to modest atmospheric instability. Anticipate cooler temperatures later in the week with highs returning to seasonal norms.
